The Last Post...

This will be the last post that will be entered on this Blog. For the past few months I have been working on a new website and blog to be the new home of Rosy's Photography. The new website/blog is more in line with what, we at Rosy's Photography, envision for our business and our brand. Originally the intention was to migrate this Blog into the new one, but because of technical differences it would have taken far too long to do so. Therefore the decision was made to leave this Blog as is and simply move to the new one and link to this one as an archive. This Blog will no longer be updated and it will be deleted sometime in the next 12-18 months. All updates and posts, as well as event pictures, news and happenings will now be entered on our new site. Thanks to all those that posted comments, we appreciate your kind words and encouragement. Remember to register to the RSS feeds on our new Blog so you will be notified of updates to the content and to news about Rosy's Photography.

My Second Awesome Photograph...

As you all might know, a while back I submitted 3 pictures to the editors of Awesome Photographs to be considered for publishing on their site. I was surprised to receive a reply that all 3 images made the cut. The first one was of Martha by the water. This second one is of my good friends Martha and Juan, who are getting married on Feb. 3 in St. Josephs Catholic Church in Harvard, IL with the reception being held at the Old Town Hall in Crystal Lake IL. This is one image that exudes their love for each other and no words were necessary, their eyes and touch were expressing much more than words could ever say. I hope you like this image as much as I do. And a big Thank You to the editors of Awesome Photographs.

Fine Art Prints & Canvas

Throughout this year, 2006, as much as I have been able, I have been taking pictures of the area in which I live, or in which I drive by on my way to or from work. Since I have been getting some good comments about my images, I decided to sell some of them as Fine Art Prints and/or Fine Art Canvas Prints or Gallery Wraps. Here are pictures that I have uploaded to our storefront and are available for purchase. If you are interested in purchasing any of these prints, please visit out online storefront.

1. Barn - An abandoned barn I see everyday on my way to work.

2 & 3. Barn in the morning fog - Two images of the barn in the morning fog at sunrise.

4. The Bean - A huge reflective structure shaped like a bean in Millenium Park in Chicago IL.

5. Tower on Fire - One of the 2 glass brick lighted waterfall towers in Millenium Park in Chicago. The towers' lights change colors and also display a series of faces from people around Chicago.

6. A Foggy Road - This is a simple shot I took of a post by a dirt road. The road still had some snow that had not melted and in the areas of more snow, the fog was heavier.

7. Willows in the fog - I shot these willow trees on my way to work. I would have never come across this small lake if it were not because there was construction on my normal route and I had to take a detour through Lake Zurich IL.

Congratulations Meg & Mike

On November 18, I had the priviledge of 2nd shooting for a great photographer, and now that I have met him, a great person as well, Andrew, of John Andrews Photography. He made the offer on OSP for those that wanted to enhance their portpolio so I jumped at the chance. Thank you so much Andrew for the opportunity. I definetely learned a lot from watching him shoot and from his style of doing things. And of course, I was also able to create some good pictures, but I'll let you decide whether that is true or not. Here are some of the pictures I shot for Andrew. The ceremony took place at Saint Alphonsus Catholic Church in Chicago and the reception was held at West Loop Studio. Between the ceremony and reception we went with Meg and Mike and the wedding party to Union Station for some portraits.

An Awesome Photograph

That is awesome. I got one of my images published by an online publication called Awesome Photographs. They are an online publication that promotes the work of photographers from all over the world. I have been lucky enough to get 1 of my images published.

I had submitted 3 pictures a couple of months ago, but I didn't hear anything back from them, until about 2 weeks ago that Jim Cook of James Cook Photography contacted me to let me know that all 3 images had made the cut and all 3 images were going to be published at different times. The first one that has been published today is the one of Martha by the pond, which I titled "Serene Relfection". A big thanx to Martha and her family for making me part of their special day, and a big thanks to my friend Gaby Cruz for all her help during that day. And a huge "Thank You" to the editors of Awesome Photographs for publishing my images. You guys are awesome! (pun intended) The 3 images that are going to be published are here in my Blog, however, I won't say which ones yet, but keep checking back as I will post about them when they are published. You can click the link above to go to Awesome Photographs.

Light - Make it Real

Well, for the past month or so I have been communicating with Neil Cowley about doing one of his Make Light Real workshops. I got to talk to Neil last night and also very briefly to Liesl, his wife, and they both sound like extremely nice people. By looking at the work Neil has done via his website, I can hardly wait for the workshop to start.

The workshop will take place in Harvard, IL, that is where I live, and it will be a full day of instruction and hands on exercises. If you are a photographer that would like to take your wedding reception lighting to a whole new level, you need to be at this workshop. There are only 15 slots for the workshop and 10 other professional photographers from different parts of the country have already signed up to the interested list. The workshop will be on Jan. 12 2007 form 9-5. If anyone is interested, please contact me via email: ramiro@rosyspix.com and reserve your spot today.

It's been a while...

Well, it had been quite a while since I posted any pictures of my work. I have been extremely busy with many things that are family related and also with the business. I have finally had time to work on some of my latest work and prepare it for posting here. I included a simple intro at the beginning of each session. I have now done my first engagement session for my very good friends Juan and Martha, I shot pictures for Mariachi Morelos in Hanover Park IL, and just this past weekend (10/21/06) I shot pictures at the Quinceañera for Martha Alicia. Contratulations Martha. She is a wonderful young lady and quite beautiful, as you can see from the pictures. She was totally easy to photograph and very outgoing and fun. The guys were a blast too…what a great bunch of fun kids to work with. But I couldn’t have done this without the help of my good friend Gaby Cruz that both, assisted and 2nd shot for me. Thank you for visiting and I appreciate your comments.

Mariachi Morelos

After shooting Juan and Martha's e-session, the very next day, I shot pictures for Mariachi Morelos. I had never shot pictures for a mariachi but they all had a great sense of humor and when a couple of them sang, they did sing rather well. But of course, you can tell that from the music on their site as well. The pictures will be used for a calendar, and although we were a bit rushed, I think the pictures turned out ok.

My First E-session

This was my first engagement session. They are very good friends of mine. They are getting married in Feb of 07. They were super fun and I had a great time shooting their engagement session. We shot all these in 2 locations, one was in the Church of Holy Apostles in McHenry IL and the other one was at a park also in McHenry IL. As always, your comments are welcome
